Marie Philip School Residential Program

Residential Programs Help Deaf Youth Thrive

Did You Know? Many Deaf students experience language deprivation. Students who attend Deaf schools are often immersed in language and social supports during the day, but lack the ability to use sign language at home. With consistent access to language, students thrive by developing social, emotional, academic, and life skills. TLC can offer your child the opportunity to pursue their own path through our residential program. Here, students have access to positive language models and Deaf culture through their teachers, staff, and peers.

Our two residential options are:

  • Five-day, 11-month, or

  • Seven-day, 12-month

Residential Programs Change Students Lives

These stories provide a deepened understanding of the benefit a Residential Program can offer a Deaf child, including language access, independence, life skills, and more.

Navigate their Path to Pursue Their Goals

Our residential program is for middle and high school students. After attending classes during the day, students have easy access to our athletics and after school programs. Living on campus can also provide students with vital transition skills needed for post-graduate life, with varying levels of staff support, and residents develop independent living skills, including:

  • Personal Finance
  • Home Management
  • Food and Nutrition Awareness
  • Decision Making
  • Community Resources
  • Accessing Transportation
  • Clothing Care and Purchases

Each residence has laundry access, a kitchen, and a computer lab. After-school programming includes after-school activities and athletics, a variety of internships, community service, homework support, tutoring, and/or opportunities for part-time employment.
